About Joel

Joel Franco is a dynamic leader who brings a rare blend of creativity, coaching expertise, and a commitment to youth development. He currently serves as the Head Boys Soccer Coach at Silverado High School and the Head Boys Soccer Coach at Schofield Middle School in Las Vegas, Nevada.

With over two decades of experience as a producer and director in the film and television industry, Joel has mastered the art of storytelling through his company, Chesapeake Films, creating works that are both compelling and socially impactful.

Beyond the film world, Joel’s passion for sports and education runs deep. He has a strong foundation in  coaching, with a career built on empowering young athletes to discover their strengths on and off the field. Previously the head coach for the Varsity Girls Soccer team at Desert Pines High School, Joel’s leadership style focuses on nurturing potential, fostering teamwork, and building resilience.

In addition to his roles in film and coaching, Joel is the Executive Director of Where Our Children Play (WOCP), a global nonprofit organization that champions access to sports, mentorship, and life skills education for youth of all backgrounds. His vision is simple yet powerful: create environments where children can thrive, learn, and enjoy the game for what it truly is — a joyful, transformative experience.
